The End Project / The Night of Shattered Portals

Last edited 10 Oct 2026Editors: Altcraft editors (lore drops 1–3)

The End Project broke every End portal in FabricCraft. By sunrise on 30 June 2026, after an all-night coordinated strike, every portal in the world was shattered except one the group secretly kept open. The Gilded Grinders website calls it The Portal Reckoning: “all 128 known portals were destroyed”.

Background

Eighteen days earlier, Gilded and Wardens had formed an alliance (The Convening of Gilded and Wardens). The team was called the End Project: _Paese, Akii_Giant, notepaddudr, JIMMYo1, Paolo, RETAW and Ripjaw20, plus AudioDamage, who broke one frame.

The night

  • How the portals were found. This part of JIMMYo1's story is missing. He says he “found the remaining ones”.
  • The team splits into three groups and spreads around the world. AudioDamage breaks one portal frame.
  • Only JIMMYo1, PainOlaittt, _Paese and Akii_Giant are still breaking portals.
  • JIMMYo1, pain and Paese pull an all-nighter. By sunrise every portal is shattered except one.
  • The group tells the server the last portal is broken too, takes control of the End, and brings two of every animal there (they all died).
  • InternetExplorer, the only outsider who knew about the last portal, brings MicrosoftWorker, who breaks it.
  • Gilded creates the first new End portal from 12 gathered frames (The First Portal).

The last portal

The group kept one portal open and “gaslighted 99% of the server” into thinking it was broken. They planned to guard it with “wardens railguns and stuff” but never got round to it. Only one outsider knew about it: InternetExplorer. In JIMMYo1's telling, InternetExplorer warned them he would break it and brought MicrosoftWorker, who did. JIMMYo1 adds that Gilded “adopted” InternetExplorer along the way.
